Under the theme ‘Broaden Your Horizon’, an international group of 36 participants from Tilburg University School of Economics and Management visited Goethe University Frankfurt at the beginning of May. The students are completing the part-time European Post-Master Accountancy (EPMA) program – an official qualification to become a Dutch registered Accountant (RA), comparable to the German 'Wirtschaftsprüfer'.
Thinking far beyond the numbers
The study trip, under the direction of Prof. Eddy Vaassen, Director of the EPMA program, had a central goal: to look beyond traditional accounting. The program included workshops, discussions, and specialist lectures on current topics such as data science, sustainable finance, strategic thinking, and leadership. The participants took the opportunity to get to know new perspectives, always with a practical focus and in an international dialogue.
Experience Frankfurt - The financial sector in focus
Learning also continued off campus: visits to Deutsche Börse and the European Central Bank offered direct insights into the European financial world. Topics such as regulatory developments and digital transformation processes in the financial sector became concrete and tangible.
An international network in motion
The group was a diverse cohort, with participants from the Netherlands, China, Eastern Europe, and other countries. The exchange with students from Goethe University and representatives of Goethe Business School offered participants a wide range of opportunities to establish professional contacts and to gain intercultural perspectives.
An inspirational stay
The study trip to Frankfurt was a valuable part of the training of prospective auditors: practical, international, and full of new impulses. Goethe Business School is delighted about the successful cooperation with the Tilburg University School of Economics and Management and looks forward to further joint programs in the future!
