Prof. Dr. Jochen Maas, Managing Director Research & Development at Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland, delivered the keynote speech to the graduating class. He not only congratulated, but also gave the graduates 5 pieces of advice for their further journey:
1. Be authentic
2. Take care of your career yourself
3. Do not be too impatient, but jump at the chance
4. Ensure a reasonable work-life-balance and
5. Continue networking.
The speech was followed by the presentation of the ‘Goethe Excellence in Teaching Award’ to the best faculty – Prof. Dr. Klaus Miller and Prof. Dr. Simone Wies for their course “Innovation Management & Pricing”. One of the ceremony’s' highlights was the very entertaining and genuinely inspiring speech held by the class representative Henrik Hesse, who gave insights into the exciting but also intense study time, all while coping with the daily workload in the professional lives of students.
Besides honoring the best faculty, GBS prides itself in honoring those students who have distinguished themselves academically during the program. Daria Mikhailova and Dr. Waltraut Mossmann received the distinction ‚Goethe Scholar“, based on their outstanding academic achievement (top 10 percent of the class). Furthermore, 4 students were nominated by GBS for membership in the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma – a membership which is granted to the top 20 percent of a graduating class from AACSB-accredited business programs.
The ceremony and subsequent reception created an emotional highlight at the end of the master program. Moreover, the ceremony marked an important milestone in the history of GBS, honoring its first group of graduates in the Pharma MBA while currently recruiting the fourth intake. The graduates celebrated with their friends and family as well as faculty, and GBS team.
