Foundation Modules (4 x 6 CP) provide students with a solid basis in general management skills applying them to practice relevant aspects of digitalization applicable to a broad range of industries.
This course is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge about the use of accounting information in efficiently operating an organization in a digitalized world. In contrast to financial accounting systems that provide information for external financial reporting purposes, management accounting systems do not need to adhere to legal and regulatory issues and can be designed based on a cost-benefit analysis to deliver information that is relevant for the management. In this regard, management accounting information serves a decision-facilitating and a decision-influencing role.
The course will primarily focus on the decision-facilitating role of accounting information, that is, providing information to managers that is useful in predicting possible consequences of alternative actions and thus relevant for making decisions that are compliant with a company’s economic goals and Corporate Social Responsibility. It will also take a look at the decision-influencing role of information by analyzing Key Performance Indicators and incentive Systems as well as the chances and challenges of digitalization in this context.
Organizations consist of the people who work within them. The course “Organizational Behavior” therefore attempts to build your understanding and skills in leading and managing people and organizations. The objectives of this course are to raise the student's awareness of the centrality of organizational behavior to understanding organizational functioning and effectiveness; And to show how an understanding of human behavior profoundly deepens our analysis of organizations in a dynamic environment, and to demonstrate the core value of an understanding of organizational behavior to a manager's ability to achieve organizational goals.
The course “Corporate Finance” will familiarize students with the tools necessary to value investment projects and examine how firms’ investment and financing decisions are interrelated. Furthermore, the course will discuss how informational asymmetries give rise to conflicts of interest between managers and shareholders and how such conflicts affect the investment and financing decision of firms. Finally, the course will briefly discuss the notion of market efficiency. During the course we will evaluate how digital transformation affects investment and financing decisions as well as valuation.
The course “Strategic Management & Organizational Change” will familiarize students with the basic concepts of strategy and change management and will facilitate them with an integrated set of procedures and tools in order to make strategic decisions in the digital context. Furthermore, this module explores organizational change and various modes of corporate development available to managers to achieve firm growth like mergers and acquisitions.
Concentration Modules (4 x 5 CP) refer to selected management topics designed to master challenges in the special context of digitalization and provide an overview of digital solutions and interdisciplinary content.
The course “IT Architectures & Digital Business Models” delves into the core concepts of digital transformation in organizations and digital business model development. It furthermore sheds light onto key digital technologies and architectures driving and shaping digital transformation and business model development.
The course “Digital Leadership” will provide students with fundamental knowledge about leading in the digital age. Based on management concepts, scientific insights and practical examples, the course will explain why and how leadership will change. In addition, the students will learn to use adequate leadership tools. The course is looking at three leadership levels: leading a company, leading a team and leading individual employees.
The course “Digital Marketing” introduces in the basics of the Internet and Digital Marketing and will then deal with in-depth topics like Online Marketing, the importance of search engines, social media and online social media for digital business.
The course “Digital Process Management” provides the fundamental knowledge to understand why digitalization is a lever to improve business processes and how it can be used an enabler for process innovation. The core drivers of process innovation and improvement are introduced. Ethical aspects will be taken care of.

Course content can be directly implemented into professional practice, and study projects, such as the master thesis, are designed for direct practical relevance.
Specialization Modules (choose 4 x 5 CP) focus on complex issues imminent to digital transformation. Students choose modules according to their particular interests on a personal or professional level.

Master Thesis & Seminar
The mandatory Seminar "Scientific Methods for Research & Writing" is designed to prepare students for academic research projects and conveys relevant methods for research and academic writing.
The mandatory Master Thesis is a student's original research project in written format, based on the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the program. Ideally, the research project is based on a real business project with an emphasis on digitalization.
