Great demand for Goethe Business Schools new MBA program
Wednesday, 16 September 2009 02:00
Goethe Business School’s full-time MBA program attracted 29 students in its first year. Compared with rival business schools in Germany, who in some cases started with just 10 students, this is a great success and a great vote of confidence in a highly competitive and demanding market place.Significantly, student recruitment has not been dominated by home-grown talent. Quite the opposite. German students represent just 15 per cent of the course intake, with the remainder coming from as far afield as Columbia, France, India, Kazakhstan, Portugal, UK, USA and Venezuela. The full-time MBA students’ average age is 28.
Goethe Business School’s Executive MBA programme, offered in alliance with Duke University, starts with 34 participants with more than nine years of professional experience on average. About a third of the participants come from abroad. The Executive Master of Finance and Accounting (EMFA), offered in conjunction with KPMG since 2005, starts with 24 participants, the largest class so far.
Prof. Rainer Klump, Vice-President of Frankfurt University, congratulated the new students on choosing Goethe Business School: “Goethe University is one of the best universities in Europe. Its new Westend campus is one of the finest worldwide right in the middle of a major city. Study conditions at the House of Finance are excellent. In short, you’ve got the best possible conditions to successfully complete your courses.”
Prof. Andreas Hackethal, Dean of Goethe Business School, said: “We have been delighted to see our new full-time MBA, the Executive MBA and the Executive Master of Finance and Accounting programs performing so strongly, despite the financial and economic crisis. We certainly didn’t take this for granted because we are in competition with established European MBA programs for the best talent. We take the attendance figures as proof for the attractive design of our programs and for Frankfurt as a location for excellent management education.”
