EligibilityGerman citizens are automatically eligible to apply. International students can apply provided that they currently hold an unlimited residence permit and have resided in Germany for a minimum of two years.
Duration
Recipients of this loan can receive funding for up to five consecutive years.
Description
Recipients can receive a fixed monthly amount of up to 800 Euros, with a maximum total loan in the amount of 30,000 Euros, for the duration of the degree program.
Once the degree program has been completed or the recipient withdraws from the program, the monthly payments will discontinue. The repayment period begins three months after the recipient begins his/her career, but no later than 12 months after graduation.
Application
A complete application includes the following documents: an official university letter confirming enrollment and/or registration in a degree program at a state recognized university in Germany, valid passport, and for international students, proof of an unlimited residence permit and of residence in Germany for a minimum of two years.
Requirements
Recipients must complete their program of study before the age of 30.
