The Center for Financial Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt is organizing a conference on Household Finance. The objective of the conference is to present state-of-the-art empirical research and empirically motivated theoretical research on household financial behavior over the life cycle, and on how this is influenced by other choices, government policies, and the overall economic environment. The main research areas of the conference are the following:

- Patterns of asset and debt behavior over the life cycle
- Financing retirement and the demographic transition
- Consumer indebtedness, including mortgages, and financial distress
- Behavioral approaches to household finances
- Financial literacy and the role of professional advice
- Trust, subjective expectations, pessimism, and portfolio choice
- International comparisons of household finances using micro-data
Conference Deadlines
The submission deadline is already over. Paper inclusion in the Program will be confirmed by June 30, 2010. Local expenses of paper presenters and discussants will be covered.

Das House of Finance hat im Frühjahr 2008 seine Pforten geöffnet und vereint Einheiten der Universität, die interdisziplinär über Themen wie Finanzen, Geld und Währung sowie Recht der Unternehmen und Finanzen arbeiten. Acht akademische Forschungs- und Ausbildungseinheiten werden im House of Finance zusammengeführt.
